Wasaru (Landmass)
Wasaru is one of the seven continents on the planet of Utopia, being the continent in the centre of most world maps as well as including three moderately largely island chains to its south west. It is the second largest continent by landmass and largest by population, home to around 4.889 billion people1. It is largely believed that humans originated from the Wasaruan continent somewhere in the northern river basins; this history has led to a large number of different cultures and societies flourishing leading to the thirty independent countries seen on the continent today, the most on a single continent in Utopia. Although not a perfect division, Wasaru can be broadly divided into north and south by the expansive Jezabel jungle which complicates travel between the two sides of the continent. Before the twentieth century, interaction across these two sides was rare which subsequently led to the two sides developing distinct cultures and societies – although there still exists variation within both the north and south. The continent has historically hosted many powerful and historically influential empires, such as Nagy Pécs, Pupatory, Verleschdie, Aretnorf, the Islamic Caliphate, the dynasties of Jingyang, and Kkhano to name a few; all of which had major impacts on the history of the continent and Utopia at large, but all have since collapsed. At the beginning of the twentieth century, Kjanu in the north and Impeck in the south dominated the continent but have both since declined to differing degrees, giving rise to new powers. In the modern day the unification of Miotia, Candor and Kjanu into the United Kingdom States has given rise to a dominant power in the north again, meanwhile the Fengese Imperium in the south exerts a great deal of influence over its traditional rivals in the region.
