Wasari (Landmass)

Wasari is one of the seven continents on the planet of Utopia: it is the smallest of the three ‘large’ continents (the others being Wasaru and Dissopoloforia) and is entirely within the western and northern hemispheres; in spite of its geographic size though, it is the smallest populated continent by population1. Wasari was the second continent populated by humans, originally crossing from Northern Czech across a land bridge before settling in various pockets across the continent largely mirroring where nations now exist today. The close proximity between the continent and other outlying land masses such as Hurona, Svalbard, and the aforementioned Northern Czech has led to moderate levels of cultural crossover between the fringe regions of the continent and their outsider neighbours; however internal geographic barriers have often prevented such phenomenon between countries on the continent.The continent is currently home to eight nations2, 3. Many natural barriers break up the continent into sections; the Lääne and Ida-Põhi mountain ranges north of Estland-Iskolat separate the north and south, whilst the Moravan rain forests make travel from east to west difficult. These geographic divisions created isolation between communities, enabling the growth of numerous smaller cultures and religions which avoided becoming homogenised, leading to the large number of nations across a relatively small population. The World Union is dominant as an international organisation on the continent, with Grenopia and Italian Canada being founding members whilst Serbatija and Luthorios are heavily influenced by the alliance as a result of recent conflicts. With Tlanyuca and Khacat Tur in turmoil, the only functional states not under the influence of the WU on the continent are the republics of Estland-Iskolat and Askelewi, who are locked in territorial conflicts with each other over historical disputes.
