Bahram

Baheam is the third planet from Helios and second largest terrestrial planet in the system. It is a dusty, desert-like planet coated in a thin iron-oxide layer that gives it a rusty color. The planet is often known as the “twin planet” due to its similar size and close proximity to Utopia. Unfortunately, the planet has an inhospitably thin atmosphere and high levels of cosmic radiation. While there are pockets of sub-surface water and ice caps on the poles, Bahram has no liquid water.

Bahram has been the site of many expeditions from Utopia due to its similarities to the planet as well as its high mineral content. The Meridian Commonwealth has maintained permanent settlements on the planet since 2004, and recent efforts have been made by Northern Electrica to set out an independent outpost. Research is underway to “terraform” the planet into a more hospitable space for larger colonization efforts by creating a thicker atmosphere and importing plants and animals from Utopia. The planet was named after the ancient Meridian Commonwealth god of victory, who was the most popularly worshipped deity before the nation’s conversion to Islam.
